We recognise the importance of Geographical study in promoting an understanding of the world and of physical and human processes. Geography lessons should inspire in our pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people. We hope this curiosity will remain with them and equip them with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with an understanding of the Earth's key physical and human processes. For example: the formation of landscapes with glaciers or the process of formation of volcanoes on land and in the ocean.
.We provide a range of resources to support work sent from pupils’ home schools following the National Curriculum and GCSE requirements. These include books, study guides, maps, globes and photographs; we also have excellent ICT facilities to support research, independent study and video conferencing.
For longer stay pupils and/or those requiring repeated admissions to hospital, we will liaise closely with the home school to ensure that learning is as uninterrupted as possible. For Key Stage 4 pupils we will ascertain the exam board towards which they are studying and provide targeted support in specific programmes of study.
Small scale trips in the immediate environs of the hospital are possible.
