Religious Education
Our RE curriculum follows the Devon Agreed Syllabus and looks at major world religions which helps pupils to make sense of their own and other people’s identity. We encourage pupils to understand how choices children and adults make are often linked with, and influenced by, religious and moral beliefs. We respect individual identity in its diversity and celebrate a variety of religious festivals throughout the year. We are regularly visited by the hospital Chaplains who, when applicable, support learning. Although we are unable to visit places of worship directly, we make good use of the Internet to take virtual tours and have a good range of artefacts to explore. For pupils studying at GCSE level, we liaise with their main school so that we can follow the same syllabus that is being offered by their chosen exam board.
